Black Raven Court
   1) East out of Golden Lane. In Cripplegate Ward Without.
   See Britannia Court.
   2) East out of Seething Lane. In Tower Ward (Strype, 1720-O.S. 25 in. 1880). Called "Black Raven Court or Passage," in P.C. 1732-Boyle, 1799.
   Seems in later times to have covered part at least of the site of "Black Dog Alley" (q.v.).
   The Tower Ward Charity School, est. 1705, was in this street in 1846 (Maskell, p. 185).
   Site now covered by Mark Lane station.
   3) South out of Leadenhall Street. In Aldgate Ward (L.C.C. List, 1912).
   First mention: 28 Eliz. 1586 (Lond. I. p.m. III. p. 87). "Black Raven Alley."
   First called "Black Raven Court" (Rocque, 1746).
   4) South-east out of Cow Lane, in Farringdon Ward Without (O. and M. 1677).
   Formerly "Raven Court" (End. Ch. Rep. St. Sepulchre, 1902, p. 8).
   Site rebuilt for business purposes.
